Error Code Decoder

Last updated

An error code is useful only when it is matched to the right machine. The same letters and numbers can mean completely different things on another brand, so start by choosing the equipment and checking the code exactly as it appears on the display. Each manufacturer-documented meaning links back to the source and, where we have one, to the FixDecoded guide for the symptom.

Type the code exactly as the machine shows it. You can narrow the list by equipment, then compare meanings across the manufacturers we cover.

Manufacturer-documented Meaning taken from a manufacturer manual or support page.   Reported Consistent owner and technician reports; the manufacturer has not published this code. Confirm with them if it matters.

How to read a code before you look it up

Write the code down exactly as displayed, including letters, dashes and leading zeros. Also note what the machine was doing when it appeared: powering on, starting, filling, draining, spinning, changing speed, incline or resistance. If the manufacturer recommends a simple power cycle, try it once. A code that returns deserves the checks listed for that model rather than repeated resets.

Brands without a published code list

Some manufacturers use plain-language messages instead of numbered codes, while others publish only model-specific tables. If your brand is not listed, use the Fault Finder from the symptom instead, or send us the exact code and model so we can look into it.
