NordicTrack, ProForm and other iFIT machines Error Codes

Many five-digit codes reported on NordicTrack and ProForm touchscreen consoles are iFIT app or connectivity errors rather than a mechanical fault in the exercise machine. A manual-mode test is useful because it separates the connected-workout layer from the basic machine controls.

Before you use this table: NordicTrack, ProForm, FreeMotion and older ICON-family brands use iFIT console software across more than one equipment type. iFIT does not publish a public table for these five-digit codes, so those entries remain marked reported. The equipment labels below are deliberately broad only for app/connectivity codes; mechanical codes stay tied to the equipment they were documented or reported on.

Manufacturer-documented Meaning taken from a manufacturer manual or support page.   Reported Consistent owner and technician reports; the manufacturer has not published this code. Confirm with them if it matters.

CodeWhat it meansWhere to look first
65002Also shown as: ERROR 65002iFIT touchscreen consoles on compatible NordicTrack/ProForm-family cardio equipment; reports are not a manufacturer code tableReported

"An error occurred starting workout": the iFIT app could not start the session. Reported as a server, network or account problem rather than a machine fault.

Likely causes

  • Wi-Fi dropped or weak at the machine
  • iFIT service problem
  • Account or membership state out of sync
  • Console software left in a bad state after an update

  1. Start a manual workout: if the basic machine controls work there, keep the diagnosis on the iFIT/app side
  2. Restart the console (power off, wait a minute, power on) and your router
  3. Log out of iFIT and back in; check the membership is active
  4. If it persists, clear the iFIT app cache or reset the console using the procedure in your manual
65003Also shown as: ERROR 65003iFIT touchscreen consoles on compatible NordicTrack/ProForm-family cardio equipment; reports are not a manufacturer code tableReported

An iFIT start-up error in the same family as 65002. One technician site describes it as a hardware communication fault; owner threads show it clearing with a console reset, so treat it as software until manual mode says otherwise.

Likely causes

  • iFIT app or console software state
  • Connectivity
  • Rarely, console-to-machine communication

  1. Test manual mode first
  2. Power cycle the console and router
  3. Factory reset from the console's pinhole button if your manual describes it
65004Also shown as: ERROR 65004iFIT touchscreen consoles on compatible NordicTrack/ProForm-family cardio equipment; reports are not a manufacturer code tableReported

iFIT account or connectivity error; same handling as 65002.

Likely causes

  • Connectivity
  • Account state

  1. Try manual mode, then restart the console and sign out and back in to iFIT
65014Also shown as: ERROR 65014iFIT touchscreen consoles on compatible NordicTrack/ProForm-family cardio equipment; reports are not a manufacturer code tableReported

The console reached iFIT but authentication failed: reported when a membership has lapsed, an account is in a strange state, or an update left the console half-configured.

Likely causes

  • Membership or account state
  • Interrupted update

Source checked 2026-09-13

  1. Check the membership status on iFIT's website first
  2. Log out and back in on the console
  3. Reset the console if the account looks fine
69000Also shown as: ERROR 69000iFIT touchscreen consoles on compatible NordicTrack/ProForm-family cardio equipment; reports are not a manufacturer code tableReported

Network error: the console could not connect to Wi-Fi or reach iFIT after setup. Owners report it returning every time a reconnect fails.

Likely causes

  • Weak or unstable Wi-Fi at the machine
  • Router settings the console cannot negotiate
  • Account time-zone or region mismatch (a support-side fix)

Source checked 2026-09-13

  1. Move the router closer or use a mesh point; confirm the console sees the network
  2. Forget the network on the console and reconnect
  3. If it still fails after a reset, iFIT support may need to correct the account
69015Also shown as: ERROR 69015iFIT touchscreen consoles on compatible NordicTrack/ProForm-family cardio equipment; reports are not a manufacturer code tableReported

A 69xxx-series network timeout; same handling as 69000.

Likely causes

  • Connectivity

  1. Wi-Fi first, then a console restart
INCLINE-CALAlso shown as: INCLINE CAL, CALiFIT treadmillsReported

The console wants the incline calibrated: it runs the incline to both ends to relearn its positions, and the calibration failed or was never completed.

Likely causes

  • Calibration lost after a move or power cut
  • Incline motor could not reach an endpoint
  • Console did not receive confirmation from the incline motor

Source checked 2026-09-13

  1. Run the incline calibration from the console settings with nobody on the machine
  2. If the deck stops short or does not move, use the incline guide
